Getting the Price You Want From Sale of Cars

Getting your car prepared for a sale is required if you're going to get the best price for it. First clean the car inside and out and make sure it's tidy. Consider receiving a new MOT as this tells a lot more about the car's basic condition. Have a complete, professional valet service. It really makes a difference to the price and how easily you could sell the car. Now you're ready to market your car and here are few tips for a stress-free sale.

1. Price your car realistically as it is vital if you need a quick sale. Check the prices of similar cars in popular ad magazines or online.
2. You cannot sell a car with outstanding finance.

This will include outstanding hire-purchase or conditional sale agreements.

If you are selling, get the finance company's consent or settle the finance first.
3. Don't make false or reckless claims always take care how you word your advert.
4. In advertising, stick to the facts that would interest potential buyers.

Describe the car as correctly as possible.

Quote the year, how many months are left back on the MOT and also where you are based.
5. State the present condition of the car in adverts and on the receipt.

If it's sold for spares only, or it requires any substantial repairs.

Also include this information on the receipt once agreed to sell.
6. Have all the documents and history handy.

Keep receipts for work that carried out.

A fully-stamped dealer service record adds value if have got one.

Don't forget to hand over all related documents when you sell.
7. Check whether the buyer is insured to test drives the car.

Always go away with them.

Avoid becoming a prey of car theft - if you change your seats part way through, always take the keys with you and hand them over when you get back in the car.
8. Build in a margin for haggle.

This way the buyer is happy and you will still find close to the amount you want.
9. Provide a 'Sold as seen, try and approve without guarantee' receipt also.

Keep in mind that no wording on the receipt is foolproof.
10. Get paid.

Don't allow anyone to drive your car until you're satisfied that you've been paid in full.

Cash is the best way to be paid.

If you are given a personal cheque, wait for it to clear in your bank prior to you hand the car over.

Fruitfully sold your car

So now you've settled to sell your car. What must you do before the buyer drives off into the sunset? To defend yourself, draw up a seller's contract.

1. Take two copies of the contract, one for you and one for your buyer.

2. Complete the contract with your buyer.

3. Both you and your buyer must sign and date the contracts.

4. Make sure you both keep a signed copy as proof of the purchase.
It's also important to inform the DVLA that your car has changed hands.

Make Bank at Repo Trailer Auctions

The first step is to actually find the repo trailers, which you can do by getting in touch with a bank or similar lending institution.  It's not always easy getting through to the correct person's desk, but your persistence will pay off.  Someone will be able to tell you what they have available and whether anyone form the general public is allowed to bid at the auction.  Hopefully, more than one lender will be able to help you find available bank repo trailers.  On the West Coast, American General Finance is bigger than any other sub-prime lender.  We always sent them our buyers who couldn't find another source of financing.  That, quite frankly, is one of the reasons sub-prime lenders are such a great source of bank repo trailers.

Both silent and vocal auctions are common for selling repo trailers.  Generally you'll be permitted to inspect the trailer prior to the auction-at the very least you can do a walk through.  Once you purchase the repo trailer, though, the sale is considered final.  You purchase the Trailer as-is.

A bank repo trailer is not like a bank repo home.  It's generally in great condition.  Try to get the most for every dollar.  Bank auctions are terrific for finding trailers with upgrades.  Things like multiple slide outs, internet access, satellites and generators will come a lot cheaper.  Get the most trailer you  can for the price.

Have a focus before you go to make your bank repo trailer purchase.  That's key.  If you know exactly what the maximum is that you're willing to spend before the auction begins, then you'll avoid bidding wars and over paying.  Don't go back once you've decided.  Stay committed to you maximum bid.  There are other repo trailers out there-people who get emotional at auction and start overbidding are the ones who lose.

Be sure, if you're allowed, to make a full inspection of your bank repo trailer.  Compute the costs of any repairs and deduct that total from your already decided maximum bid.  But even if you are not allowed to inspect the trailer, you still ought to have a contingency figured into the equation.  A good figure is between five and fifteen percent above the cost of small repairs.  If you're in a state with a lemon law, you'll still be able to take the bank repo trailer back as much as three days after the purchase if you come upon a big problem.

Be sure you're aware of the repo trailer's value.  That's fundamental, and it's where you start when trying to find a good deal on a bank repo trailer at auction.  Know in advance the precise value of your target trailer.  Use NADA, or use the Kelley Blue Book.  Remember, if you're using NADA, that your price is the private party price.  You're generally aiming to get the repo trailer at or under trade-in value.  This price is actually something of a guarded secret, but you can get a good general idea by calling dealerships and letting them think they might be getting a trade in.  After talking to two or three, you'll have a solid idea of what's a good, low price that you can begin to work with.

That's all.  Good luck finding a great bargain on your next bank repo trailer!

Hybrids And Werewolves Share A Common Trait: Efficiency

What is a Werewolf but a part wolf, and a part human? Werewolves had the guile of a man and the bite of a wolf. Likewise, Frankenstein's monster was a hotchpotch of old body parts put together with some electricity. Even the Greeks had their idea of a hybrid; it was Chimaera, had a head of a lion, the body of a goat and the tail of a serpent. The modern equivalent of these flights of fancy is the modern gas-electric automobile called the Hybrid. Today such vehicles exist from manufacturers as diverse as Ford, Honda, and Toyota. Even BMW and Daimler-Benz are busy jointly developing Hybrids that'll be ready for the market by 2009. And Porsche, the hallmark of racing success, is hurrying the development of a Hybrid engine for the upcoming 2007 Porsche Cayenne. With the continuous rise in gas prices, Hybrid vehicles offer the newest of the fuel-efficient technology. Soon every car maker from Mazda to Maserati will be jumping on this particular gravy train, and for good reason.

Purchasing a Hybrid today is the modern day equivalent of taking control of higher gas prices while living the Jetsons' lifestyle. There are nine Hybrids on the market today. Toyota leads the way with the second generation Prius posting the highest fuel efficiency at the lowest cost. For MSRP of $21,725 you get efficacy of 60 mpg city/51mpg hwy. This practical, yet sophisticatedly designed four-door, five-passenger automobile makes a statement. It says "green-mobile" anywhere you go. The endless surge of energy provided by its notably silent, but frugal engine will make you feel elated as you drive mile-after-mile with the fuel gauge stuck on full, seemingly its permanent position. Additionally, its spaciously interior, exceptionally comfortable seats, outstanding build quality, and original styling makes the Toyota Prius an excellent buy in any category. The 2006 Prius is the complete Jetsons' vehicle available today. Rejoice, as the sci-fi future we once yearned for is finally here.

Depending on your personality, you now have the choice between a Hybrid that looks like a traditional car or not. Unlike the distinctive Toyota Prius, the Honda Accord Hybrid and the Toyota Camry Hybrid do not shout "environmentalist" by design; rather they both blends in with the environment. If you prefer the stealth mode of a wolf in sheep's clothing, consider either the Honda Accord Hybrid, or the Toyota Camry Hybrid as your next automobile. The Accord's luxuriously appointed cabin, with its host of luxury amenities such as retractable sunroof, navigation system and LED lights makes this Hybrid the perfect choice for those seeking a refined but economical sedan. Fuel efficiency of 29 mpg city/37 hwy and a MSRP of $30,500 make the Honda Accord Hybrid affordable as well. Similarly, the 2007 Camry Hybrid is fully equipped with all the bells and whistles, and has a brazen exterior styling. With a MSRP of $30,900 and fuel efficiency of 30 mpg city/40 hwy - the 2007 Camry Hybrid is well positioned to be Accord's Hybrid counterpart.

If you are looking for a compact Hybrid that conserves space as well as fuel, consider Honda's Insight or the Civic Hybrid. Both cars have cult-like followings among compact car drivers who love the lure of hybrid technology. The Insight, with a MSRP of $21,530 attains 57 mpg city/56 mpg hwy, and features a two-door/two-passenger cabin. Its sleek exterior design and the assortment of exterior colors enhance its desirability as a niche vehicle. The compact design, however, means limited storage capacity. Alternatively, the Honda Civic Hybrid at a MSRP of $21,850 is within the same price range as the Insight, and with its contemporary good looks attains a respectful 49 mpg city/51 mpg hwy. The Civic Hybrid is unique because it looks and drives like a sports car while posting outstanding fuel efficiency numbers.

For motoring enthusiasts who prefer greater towing capacity in your vehicles, there are four SUV Hybrids available in 2006. The Ford Escape Hybrid, for example, leads the way with an unprecedented 36 mpg city/31 mpg hwy at a MSRP of $26,900. The Escape Hybrid features a 155 horsepower engine and a luxuriously updated interior making this vehicle a good buy in this hotly sought after segment. The Lexus RX 400h pushes the envelope of luxury with an even more spacious interior and a powerful 3.3 Liter V6 268 horsepower engine. The four-door, five-passenger, Lexus RX 400h gets 33 mpg city/28mpg hwy, but costs considerably more than the Ford Escape with a MSRP of $44,660. The sumptuous sport utility segment is further enhanced with the presence of Mercury Mariner Hybrid with its 2.3 Liter engine that churns out 133 horsepower with a fuel efficiency of 33 mpg city/29 mpg hwy. With a MSRP of $29,225, the Mercury Mariner is competitively priced. Topping off the list is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid that features a 3.3 liter V6, 268 horsepower engine with the highest towing capacity of all hybrid SUVs. The Highlander's attributes include a well-appointed cabin, bold exterior design, and fuel efficiency of 33 mpg city/28 mpg hwy. With a MSRP of $33,030 the Highlander is the right choice for travelers who value torque, towing capacity, and gas efficacy in their SUV Hybrid.

Hybrids no longer exist in the realm of myths or in fairy tales, but have become an integral part of our contemporary folklore. Hybrid cars and SUV's let you explore the wide open roads of our beautiful country, the cul-de-sacs of our suburbs, and the busy streets and alleys of our towns and cities. Unlike regular engines, Hybrids offer an incredible way to save on fuel without compromising your need for living. Go ahead howl like the wolf.

Run Your Car on Water - Is it a Scam?

I think you have already heard about the technology called run your car on water, which allows you to increase your gas mileage. But is water4gas a scam or real thing? In this article I will try to answer all your questions and tell more about this technology.

If somebody tells you that you can easily run your car on water you should know that it's not possible. Never add water to gas tank. It can cause serious damages to your car. However you can run your car WITH water - there is a difference. It isn't a scam. It is installed into your car and produces hydrogen from water. Hydrogen is used with your gas to increase mileage, reduce engine temperature and, what is very important, stop air pollution.

If you thinks that it is not easy to install the technology you are wrong. The technology is very simple. You can buy all required materials in a local shop. They all are very cheap. Then you should follow step by step instructions, blueprints and video lessons. That's it. It will only take you 2 hours. Even my grandmother would be able to do it. So, I can tell with full confidence that water4gas isn't a scam.

There are many car conversion systems on the internet. Some of them work, however most of them is a piece of crap. If you want to find out which system is the best, watch videos about the system and learn more about it, visit the link below. I hope you found this information useful. Good luck.

Convertible Miata - An Affordable Alternative

Whether you're shopping for your very first convertible or you're a long-time fan of driving with the top down, you could probably use a price break in these tough economic times. Even if you're doing well financially, you may wonder whether the exorbitant price tags on some of these roadsters are truly worth it, or whether you could find a better deal on a more affordable alternative. The answer to that question lies in examining what you value in a convertible - and what kinds of features and amenities you're willing to pay extra for.

One of the gold standards when it comes to high performance convertible roadsters is the BMW Z3. BMWs are in a class by themselves - or so goes the conventional wisdom. In reality, you don't have to drop upwards of $30K for an enjoyable convertible experience; instead, you could invest in the Mazda Miata SE and save yourself anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000 upfront! Of course, you'll be sacrificing the cache of the BMW brand name, but when it comes to comparing the two cars in terms of looks and handling, you may be surprised by how they stack up.

Both cars are small two-seaters with classic convertible shapes and no added bulk to disturb their sleek lines. The Miata, however, comes equipped with features like leather seats, a wood console and a CD player - all add-ons that will drive up the price of the BMW Z3 by at least $2,000. The Miata's sound system actually far outpaces the Z3, giving you more bang for your buck if you like to listen to music in your convertible. Car enthusiasts have reported that the Miata's air conditioning system is also much more efficient than that offered by the Z3.

However, there is one area in which the Miata can't compete: The engine. The BMW boasts a 6-cylinder engine with 193 horse power, while the Miata offers a 4-cylinder engine with 140 horse power. This is where you truly have to evaluate what, exactly, you want from a convertible. If you have a "need for speed," then perhaps spending the extra cash on a BMW will be worthwhile - but if you simply want to tool around town and enjoy the wind in your hair, the Miata will more than suffice. Both are fun to drive and offer the luxury of a convertible experience; the question is, are you looking for unbridled speed or astounding value? If the answer is the latter, then the Miata is the car for you.

Save Money With a DIY Hydrogen Generator Kit

All of us are concerned with the high price of fuel today. In addition, the fuel emissions and carbon footprint of a vehicle is enormous. What if you could get your fuel from a common source and possibly double your gas mileage. For less than it costs to fill your SUV, you can build a DIY hydrogen generator.

Just as the more expensive hybrid technology stores the excess energy available when a vehicle is coasting to a stop, the hydrogen generator also stores that excess energy. Most of today hybrid vehicles use batteries to store the excess energy that is just wasted by conventional automobiles. The hydrogen generator stores the excess energy by converting water into hydrogen and hydrogen oxide.

Hydrogen and hydrogen oxide are both very reactive gasses. They would prefer to burn and be transformed back into water. Therefore, when these gases are mixed with gasoline, they increase the power rating of the fuel. They give your car more power and noxious emissions. As a matter of fact, the only emissions from burning hydrogen or hydrogen oxide is water.

Since there is no carbon in these two fuels, there is no carbon monoxide produced by them. Since your vehicle cannot be powered on these two fuels alone, but must still rely on gasoline, there will be some carbon monoxide produced, but less than if the car was running on gasoline alone.

There are many DIY hydrogen generator kits available on the internet. You can also find and print out your own instructions to build one. Most parts are available at your local hardware store and include such items as wide mouth canning jars, plastic jar lid (read mayonnaise lid), vacuum tubing and other simple parts. All told, you will spend less than sixty-five dollars to build the DIY hydrogen generator.

There are many reasons to build a DIY hydrogen generator for your vehicle. The first is to save money. Fuel prices continue to grow, but imagine cutting those costs in half. Even if gasoline climbs back to the 4 dollar price tag, by using only half the amount in your current vehicle, it would be like paying two dollars per gallon.

In addition a DIY hydrogen generator is good for our environment. Your vehicle will suddenly become more efficient in burning the gasoline it uses with fewer emissions. Think of the clean air we could leave for our grandchildren with this technology.

A third reason to build a DIY hydrogen generator is that engines that burn hydrogen last longer. This means a longer time between replacing vehicles.

The Driver's Simple Guide To Tire Rotation

As you know, the treads on your tires wear down with time. Most people are aware it happens, but wait too long before having their tires replaced; the treads eventually wear down to the point they become a safety risk. There's a simple method for prolonging their useful life, and postponing buying a new set: rotate them on a regular basis.

Most automakers recommend rotating the entire set every 10,000 miles. With some makes and models, they'll suggest doing so every 5,000 miles. You'll find the recommended service interval listed in your owner's manual.

A lot of people take their vehicles to their mechanics in order to have the rotation done for them. However, you can easily do the job yourself without spending much time. The key is knowing how to rotate your tires (simply crisscrossing them is not enough) to maximize their life. You'll learn how to do so below.

How To Rotate Your Tires: Step By Step

First, if your wheels have hubcaps or rims, remove them before starting the rotation. Otherwise, they'll get in the way.

Second, prior to raising your vehicle, loosen the lug nuts on each wheel. Don't take them off completely; simply loosen them.

Third, lift your vehicle on sturdy jacks. The jack located in the trunk of your car can be used, but is unsafe. If possible, use a hydraulic model. The best way to position the jacks is to place one at each corner of your vehicle (four in total). If you only have two available, place them on the front and rear axles.

Fourth, with your car raised, remove the lug nuts. Place them in a small container to avoid losing them.

When you rotate your tires, you'll put the front ones in the rear, and the rear ones in the front. However, there is a particular way to rotate them based on your car's drivetrain. For a rear-wheel drive vehicle, the left-rear tire should be placed on the left-front position. The right-rear goes in the right-front. The left-front tire goes in the right-rear position while the right-front goes in the left-rear.

On a front-wheel drive car, the opposite should be done. The left-rear goes on the right-front, and the right-rear goes in the left-front. The two front tires should be placed on their respective sides on their rear positions. The left-front goes on the left-rear, and right-front on the right-rear.

Once the set has been properly mounted, replace the lug nuts on each wheel, and tighten them by hand (don't tighten them completely). Then, lower your vehicle.

With your car planted firmly on the ground, use your wrench to tighten the lug nuts on each wheel. Use a star pattern to ensure the tires are firmly tightened. Lastly, replace the hubs or rims.

Reasons Behind The Rotation

Your treads can wear down for many reasons. Besides the wear that normally occurs over thousands of miles, the alignment of your front wheels (on a front-wheel drive vehicle) can cause those in front to wear prematurely. For example, if you notice a feathered pattern, it often means toe is misaligned. If you notice wear on only one side of a particular tire, the problem may be a camber misalignment.

Other factors that can contribute to premature wear include loose or damaged ball joints in your suspension, loose tie rod ends, or a problem with the steering column. It may also be caused by a bent axle from a past accident.

Because wear occurs for different reasons, your treads will seldom wear down evenly. This is why their rotation should follow the patterns described earlier. If the left-front tire becomes worn on its outside edge (on a front-wheel drive car), placing it in the right-rear position reduces pressure on that edge.

You should be examining your tires for premature wear every few weeks. Take note of the wear patterns you observe, and have the underlying problems (i.e. misalignment, suspension issues, etc.) resolved.

Top Tips For Getting Ready For a Road Trip

I love a good road trip. Whether it's with my girlfriends or my family, just thinking about it stirs a sense of adventure. There's generally a bit to get organised before you head off. Unfortunately the cars readiness is often overlooked and can turn a break into heartbreak.

By not checking on your car's ability to perform, you can compromise safety, increase fuel consumption and run the risk of doing some expensive damage to your car. That's why we've put together the ultimate checklist for fun on the run.

The Car

First and foremost get your car into tip top travelling condition by doing some self maintenance.

Tyres & Wheels

Your tyres are one of the most important safety features of your car. Bald and unevenly worn tyres can get you sliding out of control pretty quickly and reduce your braking ability. There are 3 main areas to check.

1. Tyre Wear. Take a good look at each tyre. You will notice that there are ridges. When the tyres are worn the ridges become smooth. To check how much the rubber has worn, place a match stick in between the ridges. If the head of the match stick is taller than the rubber then your tyres are worn and you may need new ones. Check all 4 tyres as well as the spare. And if you don't have a spare tyre in the boot, get one as soon as you can.

2. Tyre Pressure. Check you pressure at your local petrol station. The correct tyre pressure for your car is printed on a placard often found on the driver's door sill. It will also be in your car's handbook. Remove the caps and add air to the correct pressure. You will need to do this for all 4 tyres as well as the spare. If you do not have any caps over the valve, you can buy some from your local auto shop. The caps help the air stay in your tyres.

3. Wheel Alignment. Hitting the kerb as well as general driving car lead to your wheels getting out of alignment. To check, drive the car slowly in a straight line down a quite flat street. Loosely hold the steering wheel. If the car tends to steer to the right or the left then your wheels may be out of alignment. Take it to your local service centre where they will adjust it for you.

Under The Bonnet

There are a couple of things you can check yourself before you head off.

1. Oil. Park your car on a flat surface. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it with paper towel. Put it back in the hole fully and pull it out again to see the oil level. If it's reading low, top up your oil using the correct grade as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Check your oil when your car is slightly warmed up.

2. Windscreen washer water and fluid - You'll find a clear plastic bottle with a windscreen symbol on it. Simply pull off the cap and fill with clean water. You can also add a windscreen washer fluid which gives it an even better clean.

The People

So your car is now ready to hit the grey freeway of adventure, but what about you and your passengers?

1. The Driver.

Before you set off agree on who will be driving the car and make sure they are covered under the car owner's insurance policy. Plan you stops and your driver changes. It is recommend that you stop every 2 hours to have a rest. Each time a new driver gets in, get them to take a couple of minutes to adjust the seat, rear view mirror and side mirror. It sounds obvious but may women will change the seat, but not the side mirrors.

2. Entertainment, Snacks, Games.

Pack your favourite CD, DVDs and games. Pack some road snacks including fruit, lollies, mints and sandwiches. Pack plenty of water and insist on the driver drinking it. The more they drink the more you will stop for a "nature call", which gives everyone a break. Remember the driver is the key to getting you to your destination safely so be prepared to let them have a greater say in the music and provide them with drinks/snacks when they require it.

Popular Auto Detailing That People Have Done

How many times have you thought about giving that old mustang in your garage a new look by going in for an auto detailing? But maybe you were restrained from doing it because of the high costs involved.

Today with all the auto detailing materials available at the neighbourhood auto shop, many people are exploring the option of self auto detailing. Even if you are amateur in auto detailing, with a bit careful planning and knowledge you can look forward to obtain excellent results.

At a basic level auto detailing essentially involves comprehensive cleaning polishing and waxing of vehicle. Although the procedure mainly deals with maintaining the look and of the car, at times even internal parts of the cars are cleaned. Generally done for auto shows and related events, auto detailing proves to be an excellent way to increase self satisfaction and self pride.

There is nothing like the feeling of showing off a shiny car to your pals and watching their eyes gleam with astonishment. Let us look at popular auto detailing steps that people normally undertake.

o Cleaning: This is the first thing done to a car when it is taken for auto detailing. Most of the dirt and dust of on a car, both, inside and outside the car is taken care of by basic cleaning methods which may include cleaning with special cleaning agents or simply wiping with soapy water. Care should be taken not to use harsh detergent based cleaners on a paint job of a car; detergents have chemicals that are harmful to the lustre of the paint and could leave your car look dull.

o Polishing: This is a very time consuming process and takes a lot of patience along with concentration to find the minute imperfections on the paint surface. It is usually done to remove any visual flaws like scratches, water deposits and oxidation marks on the paint surface of a car. Polishes are classified into two types, namely, chemical and abrasive polish. Chemical polish is used to remove oxidation as well as clean the surface while abrasive polish is used to get rid of the clearcoat of the paint. A rubbing compound is usually utilized to clear deep scratches as well as oxidation marks.

o Claying: To remove paint contamination, a clay bar is used. A clay bar requires a lubricant for usage. Water or spray wax can act as a lubricant in claying. Although claying causes no harm to the clearcoat of paint, incorrect use of clay bar can cause dulling of the paintjob. Claying is ideal for removing road grime, tar, tree sap and other external material which stick to the surface of the car.

o Waxing: Done as the last step in enhancing the look and shine of the car, it also enhances the intensity of the paint along with protecting its lecture for a longer time. Wax usually comes in liquid, cream or thick paste like textures. Almost all waxes have a high amount of fatty acids as ingredients in them. At the time of application of the wax, the fatty acids act as a layer between the paint surface and the outside world and prevent the surface from dust, dirt and water. Many Waxes also contain UV protection for longer paint life.

The next time you think of auto detailing, just start by using these basic techniques to make your car shine to its fullest glory.

Henry Ford Changes the World

In the grand scheme of things, the motor car hasn't really been around that long. It seems like a long time to some people because they aren't used to the idea that there was a time when cars weren't all over the place. They are too young to remember a time like that, but it happened. When Henry Ford brought out the first motor car it changed the world. It set something into motion that is still moving forward today. Before that there were only wagons, horseback, and similar ways for people to travel on their own over long distances. People didn't do too much of that because it was very difficult for them and it could be unsafe and hard on the human body. The car changed everything, though, because it allowed people to go farther and faster (and in more comfort) than they could in the past. It wasn't long before Ford started making more cars and they started to develop new features so that they were more reliable and more comfortable. Other companies got involved, too, so that Ford wasn't the only car manufacturer out there. Competition started up, and that was good for people who wanted cars - it kept prices lower and ensured that new features kept appearing on newer and better cars.

If it hadn't been for Henry Ford, though, who knows how long it would have been until the motor car was invented? It could have changed many things about the world and the way that it developed when it came to how people travel and do what they do for both business and pleasure. Certainly the motor car would have been invented by someone at some point, but because of what Ford offered the development of the car got started, and look how far it has come! Now there is still a lot of competition when it comes to what companies offer in their cars and what customers are asking for, and the future of the motor car is heading in all sorts of interesting directions, including hybrids and electric cars that are already here and improving.

How to Avoid Becoming Involved in a Car Accident

Accidents are an unfortunate part of owning and driving a car. You do not need to be a helpless victim! There are a number of safe driving habits you can practice every day to keep yourself and your passengers safe on the road.

1. Keep Your Eyes on the Road. It is tempting to watch the scenery passing you while driving, but safety should be your first priority. By watching the road in front of you and what is happening behind you through the rear view mirror, you will always be prepared.
2. Leave Yourself an Out. Place your vehicle where your safety is not determined by other drivers. Do not let yourself be boxed in by other cars, instead leave yourself a place to swerve if it becomes necessary.
3. Be Especially Cautious When Driving During Twilight. The time directly before sunset offers the most opportunity for a crash. It is difficult to see what is happening around you and other drivers are probably tired from a long day at work. Make sure your lights are on and always use your turn signals.
4. Your Reactions Are Slower When You Are Tired. Your vision and reaction time are distorted when you are tired, making it easier for you to cause or be part of a crash. If you feel tired, try getting out of the car and walking around for a few minutes. The best option when you are tired is to pull over and find a place to rest. Coffee, soda and other caffeinated options are no replacement for rest.
5. Respect the Weather. Use caution in snowy and icy conditions as the roads will be slick and other drivers may not be prepared for it. The first rain after a dry period is likely to create slippery conditions on the road. In the same vein, do not drive through standing water. It only takes a small amount of water to quickly disable a vehicle.
6. Be Cautious at Intersections and Other Dangerous Zones. At intersections, there are a number of distractions that could cause an accident - cars are turning, pedestrians are crossing the street and could be paying more attention to their cell phone than where they are going. Be more aware of your surroundings at intersections and other dangerous areas.
7. Steer Clear of Erratic Drivers. When you see another driver cut off three people and ride your bumper for a mile, they are unlikely to be the safest person on the highway. It is not worth making the driver angry or engaging with them in any way; instead, allow them to cause a crash somewhere else.
8. Be Alert Near Parked Cars. Just like the pedestrian who is not paying attention in the crosswalk, someone could open a car door into traffic without looking first. The driver could also pull out in front of you without warning.
9. Know Your Brakes. Most cars have anti-lock brake systems which require firm and constant pressure to be applied. Know what type of brakes your car has and be sure you understand the best way to work them.
10. Remember the Basics. It seems simple, but small actions like buckling your seatbelt, limiting loose objects in your car, and locking the doors can mean the difference between minor and serious injuries during an accident.

Despite all your best efforts, you can still be involved in a crash. If you are in an accident, call the police and do not leave the scene until they arrive. Make sure the officers know your side of the story and exchange insurance information with the other driver or drivers. When you return home, call a car accident lawyer before you do anything else. An attorney will know how to talk to the insurance companies and protect your best interests.

Tension in Volkswagen Subsides, Wulff Prepares For a New Battle

In Germany: For the past couple of months, the German public has witnessed the power struggle between two of the biggest shareholders of Europe's largest automaker, Volkswagen--- Porsche and the State of Lower Saxony.

The European Union court has repealed the very controversial Volkswagen law which was designed to protect Volkswagen from any possible form of takeover. The State of Lower Saxony has made use of the Volkswagen law to limit Porsche's control over the supervisory board of the company despite the fact that it holds the largest amount of stakes at Volkswagen. The Volkswagen law limits the voting rights of shareholders to 20% regardless of the number of stakes they own in Volkswagen.

After all efforts to stop Porsche from gaining control over Volkswagen--maker of the popular Volkswagen radiator fan and owner of Audi, Bentley, SEAT and Skoda---the Premier of Lower Saxony Christian Wulff has finally put down the red flag and said that he will no longer interfere with Porsche's desire to takeover both the chairmanship and the third seat on the company's supervisory board for the next couple of weeks. Such political move by the Lower Saxony marks the signal for Porsche to take full control of Europe's largest automaker.

It should be noted that Porsche has been slowly increasing its holdings in Volkswagen from the time it has become a shareholder of the automaker in September 2005. And at present Porsche already owns 27.4% stakes and will be increasing after gaining the votes of other shareholders for it to purchase additional shares bringing its total holdings to 29.9%. However, Porsche said that it will only pursue such if the Volkswagen law is repealed since according to Wendelin Wiedeking, they want to be given enough right to take part over the day-to-day operations of the automaker plus a seat at the chairmanship.

In order to repeal the Volkswagen law, the European Union has illustrated the law as unnecessary and obsolete further saying that it hinders the flow of free capital. If in case a ruling would finally come out soon it would finally give the right to Ferdinand Piech to hold multiple positions--as a controlling shareholder of Porsche and as upcoming Volkswagen's chairman of the board and at the same time holding the third supervisory board seat at VW for Porsche.

There are rumors circulating in the European investment circles which say that Wulff is not yet through with Porsche. According to a report from Inside Line sources, the "Big Bad" Wulff is currently having private meetings with the other investors in an attempt to oust Piech once his term on Volkswagen's supervisory board comes up for renewal in April.

The victory of Porsche over its stern rival the Lower Saxony came at the time when Volkswagen announced its 2006 profit earnings had doubled as compared to what it has gained for 2005. The automaker has also announced that its vehicle sales across the group has increased by a sturdy 9.4% or 5.7 million contributed mainly by Audi, Bentley and Skoda.

Use Common Sense When it Comes to Train Horns For Cars

An extremely popular automobile aftermarket accessory is the train horn. It's found on just about all types of passenger vehicles including cars, trucks, and SUVs. Train horns for cars produce the same ear-numbing, shell-shocking sound that's heard from locomotives sounding their warning whistles as they approach intersections with streets all along the rail line.

Train horns for cars are available at several price points and in several size configurations. Although they are street-legal, they do require vehicle owner to have and use common sense when using them. They are a blast to use to attract attention, but your fun will come to an abrupt halt if you blow it in the middle of the night near homes where people are trying to sleep. You can be guaranteed some unhappy neighbors, and if it goes too far it could wind up instigating a noise control ordinance that ruins the fun in a lot of other ways, too.

In fact, there are many areas that already have noise ordinances in place that could result in expensive fines just for blowing your horn. Additionally, there are a growing number of quiet zones where the use of train horns for cars is strictly prohibited; and opponents continue to push to ban the use of train horns at all-either as warning devices for locomotives, or fun accessories for automotive enthusiasts.

While this situation is concerning it doesn't mean that train horns for cars have been outlawed and you can't install them any longer. However, it is a warning to use common sense so you can continue to enjoy this awesome accessory. You may want to go for a less powerful unit-you'll still get great volume, but hopefully not so much volume that neighbors will have a problem with you.

The Most Dangerous Holidays For Driving

Although driving is an already dangerous activity, there are some days of the year that are inherently more dangerous than others. It stands to reason that the riskiest days to be on the road are major American holidays, and the statistics bear this notion out. According to statistics collected between 1982 and 2008:

Thanksgiving Day averages 567 deaths
Labor Day averages 544 deaths
Independence Day averages 542 deaths
Memorial Day averages 508 deaths
Christmas Day averages 414 deaths
New Year's Day averages 401 deaths

The reasons behind these statistics are quite simple:

People tend to drink more on the holidays. Celebrations, parties and get-togethers are the order of the day, and of course beer, wine and other alcohol often make an appearance as well. This is a cocktail for disaster.
More people tend to be more concentrated in central locations during the holidays. That means that more people are leaving from similar locations, and that increases already crowded roadways.
For at least half of the holidays the weather is generally not the best for driving in half the country, and inclement road conditions can severely affect the ability of people to drive safely.
People on the holidays tend to have different moods than they do normally. Either good mood or bad, people on the holidays tend to take more risks, drive in ways they wouldn't normally, fail to wear their seatbelts or drive places they normally wouldn't.

In any case, the risk of driving on the roads during the holidays significantly increased the possibility of serious injury or death. While there is no way to fully avoid the dangers of other drivers on the road, there are a number of steps that you can take to safeguard your life and the life of your family.

Don't speed. The old expression is true, speed does kill. Slowing down and yielding the right of way can help reduce the stress of other drivers on the road, and can make the drive to and from your destination that much easier and safer.
Always wear your seatbelt. Even if you are simply driving down to the corner store to get another can of sweet potato pie for the Thanksgiving meal, buckle up. Seatbelts save lives, and are a simple and easy way to increase the likelihood that you will survive an accident.
Never drink and drive. Drinking and driving significantly increases the chance that you are going to cause an accident, and seriously injure or kill yourself or someone else. It's also illegal. Get a designated driver, stay the night wherever you are, or just don't drink. Save yourself, and save someone else.

If you have been injured in an accident during one of the most dangerous driving days of the year, you need to know that you have rights. Even though you are dealing with a difficult situation and likely have a number of serious concerns in your mind, you have to make sure that you have the financial means to pay for your medical bills, lost income at work and transportation while your vehicle situation resolves. Furthermore, you may be entitled to monetary compensation for your pain and suffering. One way to ensure that you are able to take care of yourself and your family is to contact an auto accident lawyer and get started on your case immediately.

Buy Your New Car With Inchcape Lexus

Buying a used car can potentially cause some pitfalls that you do not want to encounter, however by following some simple guidelines the entire process should be rather pain free. I recently purchased a used Inchcape Lexus and have experienced first hand what you need to look out for when buying a used car.

Firstly you need to do you research, research the type of car you want and understand about the model and the average going price. Create in your head your own budget and include insurance, road tax and running costs when you are working out your final figures. Look at online car sales and buy automobile papers to find out if the asking price you are given for your car isn't too high, and equally isn't too low.

If you are buying a car from a private seller and not a dealer such as the Inchcape Lexus dealer I dealt with then make notes when speaking to them on the phone. Ask how long they have owned the car, if the car has had a recent MOT, is the vehicle taxed? Ask what condition the car is in, why they are choosing to sell it, if it has ever been involved in an accident and what features the car has. It is also very important that you have a landline contact number for the seller, as well as a mobile.

Once you have researched your car and found a seller then the smartest thing you can do next is do a car history check, consider it an investment. The check will clarify to you is the car has been reported stolen, has outstanding finance on it, has it been written off and what the full specifications of the car should be.

Always visit the car seller at their home address, not anywhere else. Check that the address you are asked to visit is the same one listed on the V5C document and that it hasn't been amended at all. Take the original advert for the car with you to the visit and the notes that you made during your phone call. This will mean that you are able to check all of the details of the sale are the same and have not changed at the visit. If you are ever in doubt then make sure you check everything carefully, many people have been conned this way. Alternatively use an official dealer such as the Inchcape Lexus dealer I used when looking for my new car, you can then purchase your used car with confidence.

Are Futuristic Cars Getting Ready to Get Off the Road?

After watching Back to the future and Jetsons, I got this dream as a youngster that some day we would all be owning a car that can fly sky high and park our Jet Engine Cars in our back yard, well I am excited today to see a lot of these visionaries working passionately towards making these childhood fantasy a reality.

Flying car

I understand that there are a lot of people that just don't think this is possible, considering the fact that flying any object on our airspace requires a lot of complicated requirements that only pilots and IATA understands. However, there are a couple of realistic facts that  should make any average joe to think that this flying cars are not something for the next century but they are in fact possible within a decade or so because of the following reasons:

-If a 747-400 Boeing can actually carry and fly a weight of about 100,000 kgs and this is without including its tare weight I think its not difficult to make a car weighting 2000kgs to fly.

-If a spy plane can totally fly on autopilot then why not a private flying car?

-If a normal vehicle can get through a jam packed traffic jam on any given busy road on land then its certainly without a doubt we should be able to fly a car on our dedicated non-collision route. Isn't there a lot of airspace in our world than the land and sea ?

So let me conclude before I go over board with this analysis while I am having my coffee. Flying cars are sure to surface the earth and fly at least within our atmosphere let alone stratosphere and  jet stream - I wonder what they are? Anyway Thanks to all the visionaries and the inventors for contributing to our future, keep up the great work... There is a real flying car funny video on my site, you gotta see it.

Used Construction Machinery Equipments

There are the homes and industries available for the people just because of the construction industries. There are so many industries that are surviving just because of these construction industries. Construction and infrastructure industries are the basic needs for development and modernization. Any of the country needs to have the infrastructural and construction development even in the interior parts of the countries. This industry is one of the most critical and essential parts of modernization.

Therefore the demand for the construction machinery is always higher. These are the machinery that are making huge sense as they need to have the properly maintained industrial growth and also the most appropriate transformers and carriers to carry them!! There are some of the best qualities and higher technical superior companies that are manufacturing the machines and them all are available on the websites with ample choices and reasonable rates.

These heavy machinery and infrastructural tools are quite expensive in buying newer as there are fewer manufacturers and also the demand is higher than the supply in this particular sector. All these factors have made these equipments quite expensive ones and people who are interested in buying these machinery are hesitating sometimes because of prices of the machinery. To remove this hesitation, there are options of used construction equipments available on the site and people are attracted largely by the rates offered. There are some of the most qualitative equipments that are offered quite cheaply just because they are used for some while. So many companies are selling these equipments cheaply to the dealers due to various reasons and dealers make them available for the people at quite reasonable rates.

These used construction equipments and also the construction equipments are available with louder verities on the technically stronger website of the online machinery buying and selling industry, My web auto center. This website is also having the entire vehicle and other types of machinery to save time of the people by providing just one stop shopping online!!

Air Cars, Trucks and Other Vehicles

The major expenses with vehicles are fuel and repairs.

My 72 Gran Torino gets 27-30 miles per gallon on the freeway, depending on the terrain, and 24 miles to the gallon city driving. She can haul 4 times the weight and 6 times the bulk of a new comparable vehicle. She is safer and more comfortable than any of these new vehicles.

Yet new vehicles only get 35 to 40 gallon per mile, can only haul 1/4 of the weight and can haul less than 1/6th of the bulk of the Gran Torino.

New vehicles are not an improvement on 36 plus years old vehicles.

Why not? A combustion engine is designed to burn fuel. Even if you actually 'improve' the engine (without sacrificing room, comfort, and safety of the vehicle) if you put more and more pull/drag on the engine with bigger alternators, smog pumps, air conditioning, etc., you have lost any efficiency gains.

Imagine: A full sized, very comfortable car. Why do you need a combustion engine, or a hybrid electric, or an electric with the electric motor and heavy batteries?

Weight!

A false roof over the roof of your car could easily contain hydrogen bags. Simple lift controls on the dash could release hydrogen to provide 'legal' lift.

'Legal' lift would probably be 'tires must touch the pavement' at first.

Remove the engine, clutch, transmission, radiator, muffler and fuel tanks.

Paint the engine compartment and the outside of the vehicle with photovoltaic solar paint and hang some lights to power the interior paint for night running. Install a few 12-volt automobile batteries and clean up the electric needs. Such as led head, tail, clearance and interior lights.

Of course all of the engine, transmission, clutch and other electronic gadgets would be gone and would no longer be pulling down on the batteries.

Electric fans installed where the radiator had been, with a slider plate leading to the air vents in the hood, small tube fans installed down the sides of the vehicle, and fans on top of the vehicle would provide the motivation needed.

The fan speed could be controlled by a pressure gauge/valve under the existing foot throttle.

You would no longer require mechanical brakes. A couple of fans dedicated reverse could be controlled by a pressure gauge/valve under the existing brake pedal.

As long as 'legal' lift was wheels on the ground you would have steering with your front tires controlled through the steering wheel.

However it will be necessary to install an upright rudder/tailfin and flaps to turn, raise and lower the vehicle when air born.

Imagine a vehicle you could easily repair!

This will work for any vehicle of any size, shape and weight, civilian or military.

For trailers you can bag the ceiling or bag the undercarriage. As long as you are being paid by weight, you will need to pump/compress your bagged hydrogen, so that the pay scales will show the correct weight. However while traveling, with your hydrogen bags inflated, no more overload tickets!

Used Jaguar - One of the Most Cherished Cars

One of the more beautifully designed cars in Jaguar's range, the XK boasts to possibly become one of the most cherished coupes in modern times. The detailed design of the car makes every angle look just right, with a sleek body that fits the name of the car perfectly. The XK has a particular construction that keeps the weight down and the dynamics up. Buyers will be hard pressed to find anything wrong in the design of this particular model.

Though not designed to be a sports car, the XK can pack a punch when driven to high speeds and has that 'sports car feel'. The lightweight body of the car balances the steering perfectly, making an amazing experience whilst driving which is great for those more competitive drivers who like to screech their tyres a little.

The XK is filled with extras and technological gems, including the choice of quality sound systems. Six-speaker systems and an alternate CD, WMA and MP3 player. When it comes to safety and security, the XK is well secured. It is fitted with a Thatcham approved alarm system, door protection and tilt-sensing to detect the vehicle being moved or jostled about. The steering lock is automatically engaged when the car is locked to dissuade thieves.

The XK also has a number of standard safety features including airbags and stability control devices, as well as a deployable bonnet that lifts up when impact with a pedestrian that cannot be avoided is sensed.

The older model, whilst not as fast or as powerful as the most recently made 'revamped' XK, is easier and cheaper to run when looking for a second hand car. The XK can be from £5,000 up to £12,000 for models over ten years old, but for recent models the price climbs intensely. 2005 Models onwards can climb from about £11,000 to £64,000 depending on how recently the car was made. That coupled with the fact that despite being pretty, the XK is definitely not one of the most economic cars out there, barely managing a weak 16mpg in built up traffic and a mildly better 24mpg on the motorway.

The sheer price of the car when looking at newer models will stop a new driver then and there. The expenses of keeping up with an XK, as well as the fuel costs and insurance are too high for a new driver to be able to afford. Plus, the XK's engine is a little too powerful for novice drivers to deal with.

Again, the issue with the price of the car would be in hand when looking to buy a second hand car for a family. Smaller families would be better suited to the XK if they can afford the upkeep of it, but not as a primary vehicle, more as a casual secondary vehicle. The Used Jaguar XK is better suited to those couples who collect cars and have a lot of money to spare, or for those who are competitive drivers who like powerful engines.

Best Used Cars Under 5000 - Providing Affordable Cars to Buyers

In the current economic scenario prevailing in the U.S. many people are unable to purchase brand-new cars due to their high prices, and hence they are desperately looking at other options like procuring best used cars under 5000. If you are capable of paying 5000 dollars to purchase a used vehicle, the options are many. Many original automobile owners sell their used cars within this range, and for getting information on all these, a person should take help of the internet or reputed car dealers. But it is preferable to interact directly with the actual car owners so that you are aware about the history of the concerned vehicle which you intend to purchase. Negotiations can also be done in a sensible and cordial manner with the owners, which is often not possible with the business-minded dealers.

While buying these cars, buyers need to pay cash instantly and auto loans with EMI facilities are generally not available. You might not get the latest launched car models in this mode of car purchase, and that should not be your priority too. Your focus should rather be on buying cars that are of good quality with vehicle components functioning optimally. Buying a comparatively older car model might actually prove to be a blessing in disguise, as the recent car models in the lower price ranges are sometimes not robustly built. Another big advantage in purchasing used cars is that there would not be the constant pressure of having to pay off your car loan which is owed to the bank.

On the negative side, warranties are generally not present on these cars and any repairing done post-purchase needs to be from your end. So before you purchase any one of the best second hand cars under 5000 rigorously check the quality and the condition of the various parts.

Every Driver's Must-Have Winter Driving Accessories

I know summer is right around the corner and most people are putting their winter driving accessories away. But, if there's anything you need to stock up on or replace for the next snowy season, now's the time to do so. Stores are clearing room on their shelves for all the tailgate accessories and sun shades, so you can find your winter driving accessories for a fraction of their regular cost. Plus, there's nothing worse than waking up on a snowy day and knowing that your car isn't ready to take on the frost. Avoid last-minute snow-gear shopping by stocking up today. Here's a list of must-have winter driving accessories.

Snow Tires/ Snow Chains
If you live in an area that snows a lot, you'll definitely want to invest in a good set of snow tires. Snow tires have tread patterns that are designed to dig into the snow and ice, therefore keeping a better grip on snowy and icy surfaces. This grip is critical to make sure your car can stop and steer safely. If you only drive in the snow periodically, tire chains ought to do the trick. Snow chains give you the traction you need to avoid slipping and sliding all over the road.

Rubber Car Mats
Rubber car mats are an absolute must for anyone who has to drive in the snow. While floor mats don't do anything to improve your driving capabilities in the snow, they do a whole lot to protect your interior from anything your boots can drag in. With snow often comes slush and mud, and if you don't have rubber car mats in place, that slush and mud get tracked in all over your carpets. Rubber car mats also provide good all-year protection, guarding against spilled coffees, dirt and debris.

Windshield Washer Heater
Ditch your old snow scrapper and step up to a windshield water heater. Windshield washer heaters heat your washer fluid to 125-135 degrees before spraying. That way you can easily remove frost, ice, snow and other debris from your windshield without having to stand out in the cold with a crummy scrapper. And, since it's powered from your vehicle's electrical system, it uses minimal energy.

Windshield Covers
Keep your windshield from freezing over in the first place by using a windshield cover. Windshield covers are made to withstand sleet, snow, ice and wind, and they cut down on the defrost time. That means you can set your alarm for 10 minutes later in the morning since you won't have to worry about scraping or defrosting your windshield.

The Chevy Camaro - Initially Little More Than Hobbled Together Chevy II's

It may seem surprising to many the simple origins of the venerable "muscle car" line of the 60's the "Chevrolet Camaro". The Camaro started its life as little more than cobbled together fairly standard Chevy II automobiles.

It was the lesson of the Ford Mustang - to make a simple to build , relatively inexpensive car , using " off the shelf" products already in Chevrolet's and General Motors production series - that of a "volume" family car. Product planning and production considerations led to one available target - the Chevrolet "Mustang fighter" was to be related closely to the Chevy II automobile product line. Interestingly enough the Chevy II was originally not a sales hit, versus the Ford Mustang sister product - the Ford Falcon. However after a major restyling and re-engineering in 1968 this was not the case.

The Camaro product development and launch was not the work of one single individual but as a forerunner of what was to become - the chain of command was spread across a number of echelons and departments. On the other side the initial product released as the Camaro shared the problems of committee design - too many people involved and as well and a major limitation in styling in that the basis of the car was the essential first nature of the product - that to share auto components with other Chevrolet and General Motors products. What the Camaro designers produced in the end - as a first generation - was designated the "F" car. In the mid-60's GMs emphasis on styling was what came to be known as "fluidity" - that was of smooth, round lines that simply "flowed"

Yet there were a number of advanced and design engineering decisions that set the Camaro apart even then. First a critical engineering decision was made right from the start was to use a front sub-frame in combination with the "unit" construction of the Camaro car product. Eventually as well, this was regarded with such merits that the practice was introduced as well on the 1969 Chevy Nova. Having this setup was a fairly unique approach in that the sub-frame was isolated from the car body by rubber inserts or what came to be known as "biscuits" by the Chevy engineers. This technique had been refined on costlier European unit-body cars previously, including various Mercedes-Benz models and the larger G.M. Europe Opals. However the Camaro was the first application of the engineering for a low-price American car.

Why was this development of importance to the vehicle? First it can be said that the compromise was highly effective. Unit construction techniques allowed more passengers and luggage space than as opposed to a car body designed for a separate full chassis. The relatively exotic rubber mounts, for its time period, gave a much smoother, quieter ride than those cars and models that had sub-frames mounted directly to the main body shells. An example of this type of engineering and car production practice were the early 60's Chrysler products.

Another interesting engineering "trick" that was used in the Camaro project was the use of what G.M. called "cocktail shakers" - that is harmonic shock absorbers located at each end in Camaro convertibles. Their purpose was to control torsional vibration, which G.M. product testers encountered and detected in early prototypes of running prototypes.

While most of the product development of the Camaro was well chosen there were some difficulties and problems - which were bound to occur when the basic demand was for the use of off- the -shelf parts and products - developed and meant for other G.M. automotive products. Chief among these was the choice of the single leaf - rear suspension - being taken from the Chevy II and Old Toronado products. What resulted was that with large V-8 engines was considerable "axle tramp" in hard acceleration.

Along with these issues was the sales department insistence for smaller 14 inch wheels to "lower the car". You could expect that the result in the real world of automotive driving and Camaro owner's vacations was what came to be known as "rear-end bottoming under heavy loads".

Still for a product that started its life as little more than a series of cobbled together "volume family car" - the Chevy II the platform had potential. The Camaro provided a solid well thought out and designed platform upon which "The Camaro" evolved and developed from. The classic "Muscle Car" of the 1960' lives on in the hearts and memories of many, many "car guys" and aficionados.

The Pure Electric Audi E-tron Concept

Audi's new concept the 2009 e-tron is a pure electric drive sports car. The 2009 e-tron concept runs on four motors, one each on all four wheels. The motors are powered by a lithium-ion battery that provides a stunning energy content of 42.4 kilowatt hours that runs for approximately 248 Km.

PERFORMANCE
Its amazing how much of power the 2009 e-tron concept can produce; it produces 313hp(230kW) and 4500Nm of torque. These figures undoubtedly place the e-tron in the major list of sports cars in spite of its electronic nature. The designers of this car have managed to put the battery just behind the passenger cabin for the optimal center of gravity and load distribution.

DESIGN
The 2009 e-tron concept stands wide showing off its true caliber. The single frame grille shows what the Audi designers are capable of and the headlights will undoubtedly take your attention immediately. In addition to the stylishness of the headlights the technology that has been implemented is simply amazing: the lights change and adopt according to the weather conditions. To assist with the headlamps is a camera that works in line with a fast computer to detect oncoming traffic, measure lanes and visibilities.

Another unique design feature for the 2009 e-tron are the two intake vents in the single-frame grille and in front of the rear wheel wells; flaps open the vents as required providing more cooling air when needed.

It is crucial that electric cars are built with very light material, in this case Audi engineers have minimized the weight of this electric car systematically. The structure of the 2009 e-tron is based on Audi Space Frame (ASF) technology. the doors, covers, sidewalls and roof - are made of a fiber-reinforced plastic. With this combination of carbon fiber-reinforced composite material the cars total weight is only around 1,600 Kilos.

THE HEAT PUMP
It is important to talk about the e-trons heat pump because this is the first time in automobile history that a heat pump is used. The primary goal of using this pump is to not use the power from batteries to heat the car. This heat pump is similar to pumps used in buildings that use minimum energy to effectively heat the car's interior.

Car-to-X Communication
The engineers did not forget safety, they have truly put their heads into this machine. The technical concept car consists of a prototype of an information processing system. The catchphrase "car-to-x communication" refers to the direct exchange of information in flowing traffic and to the traffic environment. This technology will revolutionize the networking of road traffic mainly in countries and regions with high level of traffic.

This car-to-x-network will take some time before it gets used in reality on roads. However almost all the car makers in Europe, U.SA and Japan has decided to set a common standard for the hardware and software, once all new cars are equipped with this technology, a serviceable network of automobile transmitters will then be available. These transmitters will help in opening up many practical applications to the automotive world.

Why a Mobile Car Mechanic is a Worker's Best Friend

If you have a best friend then you know a good friend is someone you can count on in a number of ways. When times are tough or you need help with a problem, it's your friends you call upon for assistance. You also know that different people are different kinds of friends and fit our lives in special ways.

When you think of a friend, you can add all those people who make life easier for you in important ways. A mobile car mechanic may not be on the top of your list of friends, but he or she is a worker's best friend in many ways. A friend by definition is one who supports you in some manner and someone you can respect, and both definitions fit the mobile car mechanic.

Mutual Respect and Car Repairs

Many people live extremely hectic lives today trying to balance work and family obligations and don't have much time to dedicate to vehicle breakdowns. Before the convenience of roadside assistance services, when the car or truck broke down it meant one of two things. You would probably have to make complicated arrangements to adhere to your schedule while adding dropping-off and picking-up the vehicle at a service centre. Or you would have to sit for hours in a waiting room at the car repair shop hoping they would get it fixed while you still had time to call for a ride home.

Either option leaves a lot to be desired so when you think about the convenience of mobile car repair, it becomes clear why so many people think of the mobile car mechanic as a best friend. The mechanic provides the repair support you need when you need it and at your convenience. The technician makes every effort to accommodate your schedule. It's easy to develop mutual respect too, because the mechanic is qualified and provides expert service for a number of auto problems including electrical, engine, transmission, air conditioning and others.

You Never Schedule a Breakdown

When you hold a job, it's not easy and sometimes impossible to take time off just because your car broke down. You can't schedule a car problem, but you can schedule convenient car servicing. When you work, the mobile car mechanic really is a best friend.

* Can schedule service during work hours and days

* Repair can be handled onsite at work

* No need to take time off work

* Don't have to sit in waiting room for hours

* Don't have to keep kids occupied while waiting for repairs

* When questions arise, you are easily available to mechanic

* Can insure you are getting the kind of service you desire

* Can accommodate swing and evening shift work hours

One fact seems to apply to every auto breakdown or car problem. The problem will never occur when it's convenient. In fact, there's a good chance your car will breakdown during a famous Australian downpour or while record hot temperatures are being recorded. That is another good reason why mobile auto mechanics make great friends. The mobile car technician will work on your car rain or shine, heat or cold, and during any season of the year.

You may only talk to your mechanic friend when your car needs repair, but when you call, the technician will be there. Now that's a good friend!

Floor Mats For Your Porsche

When you buy a Porsche, your mind is occupied with the car itself. You will focus on which color body shell to go with, what kind of engine it has, and the rate of acceleration. The last thing you will be thinking of are the floor mats.

The fact is that you have paid a very substantial amount of money for your new Porsche, and will want to keep it as protected as possible. Over time the Porsche carpeting will get very dirty, and it can be expensive keeping them clean. This is not even taking into consideration the damage you could be causing to your precious Porsche carpeting from so much cleaning. The wisest thing to do would be to purchase some mats to protect the Porsche carpeting.

There are many different kinds of floor mats available for Porsches. There are some that are licensed and created specifically for a Porsche. These would probably be the best option if you can afford it, because there are mats created for the exact model of Porsche you have purchased. You will have the peace of mind in knowing that the quality is immaculate and in accordance with your prized vehicle. A Porsche licensed floor mat will fit your car perfectly and will also look good.

Alternatively, you do not have to limit yourself to buying a Porsche licensed mat for your car. There are a huge selection of floor mats available, in a wide range of prices. It is good to shop around and do some comparisons when it comes to prices and the specific look that you are going for. You will need to decide whether you want a mat that will cover the entire carpeting, or just the space where you believe your carpet will be exposed to the most damage. It is good to take measurements and talk to a professional about it. You can get a carpet custom-made for your Porsche, cut and sized to your exact requirements.

There are a wide range of different colors and sizes you can look into. It is nice to choose a floor mat that will match the color of your Porsche, even if the mat is only interspersed with the matching color in certain places. There are also different levels of thickness you can choose from. A thicker rubber mat will be more durable but will be susceptible to scratches too. Mats made from carpeting are also very popular. A plusher carpeted mat will be very luxurious, and there are no limits to the designs and embellishments at your disposal. If you want to have initials or a logo embroidered into your floor mat then a carpeted mat is probably the best choice for you.

It is good to note the climate you are living in, as you can get different kinds of floor mats that will be suited to the weather they will be exposed to. This is especially so if your Porsche is a convertible, as you will want a floor mat that will not be damaged by the sun, or any other elements.

Government Seized Cars For Sale - Are You Sure You Don't Want a 90% Off a Car?

There's a chance that you already heard someone who got a huge, and I really mean huge, discount on a seized car. But many seller just lie and say: " This is a seized car and that's why is so cheap" while that car could have serious technical problems. The best way to not get scammed is to get the car directly from the government or the police, or other departments that seize cars and assets.

Now, you can't just go and buy a newspaper and expect to see seized cars for sale. What you must do is to become a member of websites approved by government or police ,websites that offer you updated lists with cars that are for sale.Don't be afraid of not finding a car near you, because you will find, guaranteed. You just have to enter your city,or your zip code and you will get a list that are for sale in your city.

A lot of government seized cars for sale are quality cars, some very expensive if you want to buy them brand new, but this rule is not applied in the seized cars that are for sale. The bidding start from 100$ if you use the right website , but this doesn't mean that you will get that car for 100.Let me give you a real example:

Frank from New York bought a seized 2003 Volkswagen Passat with only 8500$, but you should know that the car's book value was 18.899. So he got a nice discount of almost 50%.

As I previously said the government seized cars for sale are in very good shape, with no technical problems. Why is that? First let think who are the persons that get their cars seized? People that do illegal stuff, people which don't pay taxes. So do you think a drug dealer drives a rusty car? Do you think he doesn't have enough cash to maintain their cars ? No. They have beautiful cars because they like to enjoy the ride and not hear a noise from their car's engine.

There are many government seized cars for sale so you have to chose which want you want from a list of 1000-2000 just for your city, depending on the size of the city.

Winter Car Accidents

Winters are always very cold and harsh in many countries including many states in the US. The ice, snow, wind, rain, fog and dark environment all contribute to hazardous road conditions. The combination of all the above factors leads to many winter road accidents every year.

Research done on all the road accidents indicates that majority of accidents occur at dusk, because of poor visibility early darkness due to poor visibility and other winter conditions. Another major issue during the winter season is the formation of ice on the roads that blocks traffic and leads to dangerous slippery conditions. Highway authorities try to maintain the roads by plowing and salting most of the major roads and highways. Their main concern is to prevent the roads from icing and clearing snow fast enough to avoid road closures.

In the winter, many cars stop when in motion due to freezing fuel and the accumulation of snow in the engine. This is extremely dangerous as any other vehicle approaching from behind may not be able to stop in time to avoid a collision. Drivers should take extra care while driving on winter roads, and should drive slowly and carefully when the weather is bad. They should make sure that car lights are working properly and tire have optimum pressure. The oil level should be checked often, and drivers should carry blankets, flashlights, etc. at all times during the winter.

It's essential for car drivers to maintain a list of important telephone numbers that can be used in case of an emergency or if the car breaks down. Special fog headlamps and taillights can be installed to help driving in heavy fog.
