Hydrogen Gas Savers - Hydrogen Gas Saver Parts Used To Increase Gas Mileage

Do you want to know what parts you need for a hydrogen gas saver? Here are some typical gas saving parts that will be needed...

Electrolyzer (some call it "Hydrogen Generator"): Some are contained in little non-breakable jars.
MAP Sensor Enhancer: this electronic device reduces fuel consumption without modifying the engine or the computer - an absolute must have for great fuel economy.
Vaporizer: ads water vapor to the engine to cool it down, improves combustion and fuel economy. Also serves as part of the "charged water system" .
Fuel Heater: pre-heats your gasoline for better gas economy, using only energy from the radiator that gets wasted otherwise. Absolutely NO modifications done to the radiator or its hoses.
PCV Enhancer: another great companion to your hydrogen system that improves the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) function, protects your engine and saves gas.
Fuse holder + wiring. Connect to the 12 volts.
Vacuum T-connector: helps you splice the vacuum line for feeding the hydrogen and oxygen into the engine.
Two vacuum hoses, 3.5 feet each. One connects to the intake manifold, the other to the air filter.
Mechanical installation hardware: Bungee cords, 8" cable straps (for Electrolyzer), 11" cable straps (for Fuel Heater), flex tubing (to protect the wiring harness), and 1/4" vinyl tubing.
Catalyst: household Baking Soda - totally safe catalyst! Catalyst is the substance that helps the electricity separate water into HHO. Distilled water alone does not conduct electricity so nothing would happen without this material. Can be obtained cheaply at your grocery store.
It might sound complicated but it really isn't. To learn more about how hydrogen gas savers work, visit http://www.provennaturalcures.com/hydrogengassaver.html

Driving Safely in the Wet Weather

When the rainy season starts are you ready for it? This is also the time of year when total darkness sets in during the late afternoon and fog is lurking just around the corner. That means that the traffic-hour rush-time now is occurring in the dark and sometimes rain and fog also and the roads are going to be slicker and there are going to be holes in the road filled with water.

So, of course there are going to be many more accidents because of these things. The one most important thing to do is to drive much more slowly because for one thing this will give your tires more traction as more of the tread will be on the road. Also, you want to avoid those holes filled with water because if you hit one while traveling speedily down the road water can splash up and get in your car's engine sometimes actually causing it to stall. That's the last thing you want to happen when it's raining because you'll have to get out in the rain to fix the situation.

There are many other safe ways to drive in inclement weather such as try to drive steadily and when braking or turning try not to make quick movements and never follow closely behind another car. It has been proven that it can take up to three times longer to stop when you're driving on a wet road.

We've all probably heard the term "hydroplaning" but do you know what it means. It happens when you driving in wet weather and all four of your tires are in a puddle of water and you hit your brakes too hard causing your car to glide across the surface of the water, sometimes putting your car into a spin. This is not the time to put on your brakes, in fact that is the worst thing you could do. The situation should be handled differently depending on what type of transmission you have. With a manual transmission, you should push in the clutch and let the car slow down. The difference with an automatic transmission is that you should tightly hold on to the steering wheel while gently applying the brakes.

Driving in rainy weather is dangerous even if you're at your best, so if you're tired you need to find a good place to pull off the road to rest. While you're driving in the rain or fog you should keep all distractions under control and always keep your two hands on the steering wheel and both your eyes on the road.

If you have prepared for the wet weather before it actually is upon you, you will have checked your tires to make sure they all have enough tread and they are at the correct pressure for this type of weather. You should also have checked your spare tire to make sure it is ready for you when you need it and also that your jack is in good condition. It is also a good idea for those who live in an area where it rains a lot to have an extra pair of windshield wipers in your trunk.

5 Easy Steps to Better Gas Mileage

At the time this article was written the national average price for a gallon of gas was $2.61. Prices don't seem to be coming down and the days of $1.00 per gallon gas are a thing of the past. However, with little effort there are some steps you can take to increase your gas mileage and save some serious money in the process.

1. Sensible driving- Speeding, rapid acceleration and braking waste gas. By curbing your aggressive driving tendencies you can increase your gas mileage by as much as 33% on the highway (5% around town). At $2.61 per gallon, that could result in a savings of up to $0.86 per gallon.

2. Empty your trunk- It's amazing how much stuff we accumulate in our trunk over time. All that stuff results in excess weight that reduces your gas mileage. An extra 100 lbs in your car can reduce gas mileage by up to 2%. The smaller the vehicle, the bigger the loss in mileage. If you remove 100 lbs of weight from your vehicle, you would save $0.03-$0.05 per gallon.

3. Observe the speed limit- I know it's hard to cruise along at 60 when everybody else is passing you but it's estimated that for each 5 mph you drive above 60 mph you're paying an extra $0.24 per gallon for gas.

4. Use the Cruise- Cruise control helps you maintain a constant speed and has a more gradual acceleration

pattern as opposed to using your foot.

5. Keep tires properly inflated- You can boost your mileage by about 3% by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure. In most cases there is a sticker in the driver's side door jamb that will have the proper pressure for your tires. A 3% increase in mpg translates to about $0.06 per gallon.

Following these five easy steps will result in better gas mileage.

Does HHO Really Work? - Learn About Running Cars on Water

HHO is brand new technology that lets a normal car run with a mixture of water and gasoline. Because it is very new on the market, there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered.

Does HHO really work?

Yes! HHO technology definitely works very well. The media and oil companies like to spread doubt about HHO, but they can't stop the internet from spreading the truth about this amazing technology. HHO is the future and it won't be stopped! Water is a renewable resource that will replace gasoline as our major source of fuel in 50 years! You don't have to wait 50 years to get this technology in your car though. Right now you can convert your normal gasoline powered car to run with a mixture of gas and water. The gas mileage of your car can be doubled!

How does HHO work?

Have you heard about hydrogen powered cars? Well, water has loads of hydrogen in it! Water is made from two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. An HHO conversion kit will extract that precious hydrogen and mix it with your normal gas. The new fuel blend created in this process has much more energy and will burn for longer! Water also has a lot of oxygen. When the oxygen is extracted and added to the burn, the fuel will burn hotter and more completely. That means less wasted fuel and more power from your engine. All of these factors combined give your car much better gas mileage!

So, How do I convert my car?

First thing you need to do is purchase a HHO conversion kit. These kits are affordable and very high quality. Also, installing these kits in your engine is easy! Most people are able to complete the conversions in their own garage with their own tools. Right now you can get these kits on the internet direct from the manufacturers. To learn about where to buy one of these kits, see the link below.

Mazda Embraces New Technology

Mazda has released an iPhone app designed to make motorists lives that little bit easier should they break down.

The application is part of their roadside assistance program which enables Mazda drivers to send their breakdown location directly to Mazda by using the app's GPS functionality. This is just the latest example of how the iPhone's functionality is being used to make lives a little bit easier.

The app is free to download for all those who are signed up to Mazda's roadside assistance plan. Once the driver has sent their location through the app they will then have a notification 'pushed' to their iPhone which allows them to concentrate on other matters.

The app has been designed so that it's easy to use - it gathers information about the vehicle through a simple questionnaire so that the roadside assistance team know all the information they need to know.

It currently runs on the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS and is only available in the US - so you will have to keep an eye out to see when it hits the UK.

The first roadside assistance app was introduced by an American road agency. So, keep an eye out for more roadside apps.

You'll also notice a lot of car dealers launching new mobile sites that are designed exclusively for the iPhone. This is so that people can browse through their selection of used cars whilst they are on go. It basically makes their services more convenient and accessible - especially as mobile browsing is really taking off.

Hybrid Cars; Visiting Japanese Auto Makers North American Head Quarters

Japanese Automakers with North American Head Quarters are moving the ball forward and pressing on into the future with new technologies for safety, fuel economy and net-centric systems. Before retiring from the auto aftermarket franchise industry, I took a tour around the nation to see what I had built and visit all our franchisees. During this trip I visited all the all Major Japanese Auto Manufacturers North American Head Quarters as part of our 2002 Victory Tour.

We are seeing a major push by Japanese Auto Makers to re-gain lost ground from post 9-11 lost market share by domestic manufacturers due to the Zero/Zero Financing Strategies of 2001-2002. Toyota had gained incredible market share in late 2002 against Ford, GM and DaimlerChrysler. Toyota started to offer a new SUV option on an old and most popular model. The 4-Runner now with an All-Wheel drive version for add safety and performance. We had the opportunity of going to the Dealership party held by Toyota of North American Corporate to introduce the many Dealership Owners this new vehicle. Also on display were the Hybrid cars and trucks, which were soon be on the lots ready for sale. They are selling many of those models today in 2005 and 2006 models. Toyota's profits were also way up due to the 2001 value of the Yen against the Dollar. The Yen was at an all time low meaning that they could build the cars much cheaper and re-invest much of these profits in R and D projects, some of hit the streets as early as May of 2003 as they released the 2004 models. This will be a war for all manufacturers as the aggressive Japanese Toyota company goes for the gold.

Mitsubishi Motors made quite a run in March, April and May of 2002 by proposing a Zero/Zero/Zero plan. Zero Interest, Zero Down Payment and Zero Payments until 2003 on all Monteros, Gallants, Montegos and Eclipses. No one knew what the fall-out rate would be on these vehicles selling starting in March of 2003 as 90 day delinquent loans go unpaid from Mitsubishi Acceptance Corporation. In hindsight the short-term strategy worked but the fall-out rates were disastrous indeed. Ford Motor Credit had also run into problems on failed auto loans in its major Ford Motor Acceptance Corporations unit. My company was in the business of washing car dealership lots in our Car Wash Guys Dealership Division which washed for many Mitsubishi Dealerships across the nation and counting them out now would not be a good bet as the 2003 models were stacked and the prices were very good compared to the increased prices of Domestic Cars due to import steel tax and fallout rates of bad loans. Even more of a situation exists as Domestic Automakers realize that the new 2003 fallout rates could reach over 8% and therefore have raised prices 10% to counteract this offset.

Nissan had done well in 2000, 2001 and 2002 although had only gained moderate ground against the other manufacturers and most of that came in the light truck market. Infinity did not do as well in 2001-2002 as expected however the major consolidation in the auto dealership industry by AutoNation, United Auto, Auto1, Sonic Automotive and others shielded them from being hurt too bad as they are diversified with all brands from Hyundai to GM. This was a bad year for some manufacturers such as Daewoo, while other brands made good headway. 2001 delivered nearly 17 million cars to Americans and was said to have saved our economy as those sales figures were thrown into the all retail sales categories showing consumer spending good as most retailers had a lousy Christmas in 2001. Nissan did well due to its ability to catch the consumer with flashy light trucks with pizzazz. Excellent marketing if you ask us at the Car Wash Guys, knowing of course that it was pure brilliance.

Mazda did well in early 2001 pre-9-11 due to the gasoline price spike, with its many fuel economy models. But did not do as well during post 9-11 as the domestics took off like a banshee from hell with Zero/Zero and lots of retained earnings to carry them. GMAC took a big bite in Mazda's sales out of the gate in 2002 and Mazda is looked for it's 2004 models to help it catch up in Mid 2003. Mazda also got hurt in the sales to rent-a-car companies and due to its domestic partner and major shareholder putting it in the back seat for now. Mazda Miata's sold excellent between 1999-2002 but not enough to carry the entire company. With a recent brand re-identification under way they missed the boat in early 2002 meanwhile Chrysler and Ford met GM's Zero/Zero and the horse raced out in front during a Buy American post 9-11 craze, the rest was history. We are looked for an excellent return to market position by mid to late 2003 from Mazda and of course their domestic partner as GM's relentless pursuit of the Zero/Zero game slowed down. GM was out in those years to wipe the competition and with the GMAC home division and new housing starts issues if the real estate bubble caused walk always, these other companies may see things rally take off. Good call as we see home sales robust even now in Spring of 2005 and enough to carry the summer. Of course if interest rates hike up and inflation occurs GM made a perfect play and inflation is moving forward and so is the FED with rate hikes, even if money flows out of the country race past inflows. All will be based on Iraq war, so far in 2005 we are 187 Billion into the re-construction of Afghanistan and Iraq and we need those money flows back. North Korean games and Iranian nuclear material standoff and the consumer's over all short-term debt and unemployment realities came up in mid 2003. It is still all up in the air now in 2005.

Honda has had good success all during the 1999-2002 auto sales boom as large city's streets and highways fill up to nearly gridlock. People knowing of Honda reliability and some having been burned in the late 80's with lousy quality would not buy an American car if you paid them. They are extremely loyal to Honda. In my early days in business I had met the Honda Brothers when they came to the US to buy a long range Cessna 150 Aircraft and even then they were very aggressive with the latest and greatest technology. At the time I was selling aircraft, boy has Honda come a long way indeed. Today they maintain new prototypes in all five categories of hybrid cars, from mixed units to pure hydrogen cell, from all electric to thermo-hydrogen-electric, from natural gas to biofuels such as bio-mass methane and ethanol. It is amazing to the secrets they keep in house with composites, finishes and propulsion. Having spent the most of any of the other foreign manufacturers on R and D projects, Honda looks to surpass the efforts of BMW, DaimlerChysler and Ford in all categories of the newest Hydrogen Cell cars of the future. Meanwhile the race continues to sell as many cars possible and amass as much money as possible at all costs from nearly giving cars away on credit with free hamburgers to pay back in the future. All the domestics are hard set on displacing the foreign manufacturers for good or buying them on the cheap in the case of a total collapse of the Japanese economy if the bad loans are realized for what they are under the current political structure which would not only hurt auto manufacturers but also cause heads to roll in banking, securities and government. In 2005 the foreign automakers with their environmentally clean cars are out pacing domestics in those categories presently due to fuel prices. They will out run any bad debts on auto loan fallout rates as the economy is back and people have jobs, the unemployment rate is extremely low in the United States now.

Likewise in the US if domestics are forced to raise prices as consumer fail to repay loans and re-marketers sell 1-2 year old cars on the cheap next to the over inflated prices of new models, we may see a glut three times as big as that of the used car dealerships, as we saw some of this right after 9-11 and some at the time were worried that with no possible option of using financing incentives to bail them out things might get tough, that did not happen and the industry ended up saving our economy in robust sales. If this did take place during a period of slight inflation and fallouts in other financial areas such as credit cards and new homes which were purchased on 2-10% down we could have seen a grouped of upside down consumers with nothing in the way of net worth to make them worthy of a new car and auto prices through the roof to cover bad debts. It would have been a disaster waiting to happen, luckily the Fed Acted properly and the tax cuts kicked in fueling small business investment. One thing is for sure there will be so many cars on the road you will spend 1-2 hours a day in traffic and that means a lot of dirty cars out there for my company to wash? CarWashGuys.com

How did everything get so out of control in 2001-2002 Auto Markets?

It was not all 9-11, it was not great before that as it appeared that 2001 would end with only 14.1-15 million cars sold instead, they did slightly better with 15.1 million cars sold, which was still a disappointment from the 17.1 million of the previous year. However by the end of the Zero-Zero of 2001 the game had changed and the future risks became greater. The real question was this, would there an emerging middle class that was expanding or would it be contracting? If it was expanding and that sector was increasing now from let's say the Hispanic Population, would it be expanding enough to continue this rate of expansion in the auto industry. Can our roads handle more cars? Can our bodies handle more pollution? Are there going to be any big consolidations in the Auto Industry. What are the plans of the European Auto Companies with names like Volvo, Fiat, Jaguar, BMW, Rolls Royce, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Saab, Porsche, will these mergers continue with American Auto Makers? Will one of these be on the leading edge of new technology and leap-frog other companies with Hydrogen Cells? How many cars can our country hold, who will buy them and most of all who will pay for them? All these questions were still out in the wind and we saw a lot of cars coming off the Rent-A-Car lines and hitting re-sale lots. Would cars with two years old dates be worth 1/3 of new due to inflated prices to counteract fallout loan rates on the Zero/Zeros? Would inflation take care of this? Would it not? Lots of dynamics out there and we saw many cards very well placed changing the game in 2001-2003 as we visit the best players of the greatest game ever created; The Free Market, and no industry contains more out for blood players than the Auto Industry...God we love the game. God Bless the players, our customers and the Game. And folks that is what the Auto Industry was all about in 2001-2003 and now you can see why things are the way they are now as the Auto Dealers and Manufacturers move into hybrid fuel efficiency and net-centric electronics in the 2005-2006 models. The auto industry is a huge important factor in the health of our economy; Think about it.

What Constitutes a Chick Car?

When Henry Ford first started producing automobiles to realize his dream of a car for the common man, a car was, well, a car. Although an object of desire, it was still an object. It did not have a persona nor did it have a gender. Although in the early days, most of the drivers were men. However, the invention of the electric starter put women in the driver's seat.

And once women started to drive cars it naturally followed that sooner or later women would start to buy cars. So men bought cars, women bought cars and couples bought cars together. However, along with technology, car manufacturing became more and more sophisticated in its effort to appeal to a buying public. At first, we heard the words sports car, sedan, luxury car, hardtop, and convertible.
Then not so long ago, the phrase "guy car" and "chick car" started to pop up. These categories were established by young buyers not by grandmothers driving Lincoln Continentals or soccer moms in a SUV.

So just what is a "chick car?" It is not, as the name might suggest, a means of transport for chickens. It is a car owned and driven by women but not all women. However, it is hard to define, as there are so many definitions. Urban dictionary defines a chick car as "a car that is mostly driven by females, but is occasionally driven by males."

As an example, they cite the Volkswagen Beetle. However, Volkswagen sold over a million Beetles, so some men must have driven them more than occasionally. Another definition given is "a car that looks sporty, but has an automatic transmission," with the accompanying remark that "no man with two legs would ever drive a car with an automatic transmission." Again, many men own and drive cars with automatic transmissions.

A third classification reads "any sports car that is available only with a four-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission. While the automatic transmission is questionable, the four-cylinder engine has some validity, as men are known to favor powerful engines where as women consider economy. In analyzing the buying habits of men and women who love and buy sports cars, most women limit their purchases to $30,000.00 while men shoot for the $100,000 mark.

Another definition reads, "Any car painted in pink, light blue, or champagne is a chick car." This might be more meaningful as it is difficult to imagine a Fortune 500 executive, a truck driver, or a construction worker behind the wheel of a pink car.

And finally a "chick car" can be categorized according to the buyer's perception. The car has to be perceived as reliable - a car that can be depended on to make it to its destination. In this category, most Japanese cars were identified as "chick cars" while British cars were categorized as "guy cars."

Examples that have been given of "chick cars" in addition to most Japanese cars, are the new VW Beetle in any color but black (black makes it a guy car); the Mazda Miata, the VW Rabbit convertible, and the VW Jetta.

However, in the final analysis, "chick car" may be synonymous with beauty. It is all in the eyes of the beholder.

Will The Partnership Between Pontiac And BMW Prosper?

Pontiac, which has been introduced as the 'companion' marque to GM's Oakland Motor Car line by General Motors in the year 1926, has been the subject of recent speculation in the automotive industry. The speculation involves the issue of probable partnership between Pontiac and BMW. The hype was intensified by General Motors czar, Bob Lutz when he said that he wants to make Pontiac the "American BMW".

Pontiac is a mid-level brand in the GM lineup. It features sporty and youthful vehicles with high-performance Pontiac performance parts that are sold at reasonable prices. The pioneer General Motors Pontiac was the six cylinder model which was not designed to compete with four cylinder models.

BMW, on the other hand, is a renowned automaker. It has more than 10 years experience in manufacturing Z3 and Z4. Its name has already gained not only fame but reputation in vehicle manufacturing. Some critics are having qualms about the partnership issue because they are thinking that BMW will not allow such thing.

With the announcement of Lutz of his desire to combine Pontiac and BMW capabilities, the automobile fanatics expressed mixed reaction. Some consider the idea laughable in the light of the company's recent lineup. On the other side of it, some are looking forward for the accomplishment of said endeavor.

Auto Bild, a German car magazine has also publicized its speculation about a down-market Z-car to slot just below the Z4, where the original 4-cylinder Z3 was just a tad larger than the MX-5 Miata, the next-generation Z4 moved up significantly in size and price.

The partnership of the two automakers may be impossible to some but there is still a great possibility for it. Mazda MX-5 Miata. Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice are intriguing vehicles. Their sales percentage is constantly growing. Nonetheless, if the partnership of the two automakers prospers, the query that must be contemplated is whether people would actually shop.

Mazda MX5's Iconic Evolution that Makes Mazda Parts Distributors Like Parts Train Deliver the Best

Fresh from the wheels up, Mazda MX5 -- the world's favorite roadster remains true to the lightweight, fun to drive formula that sold more than 700,000 MX-5s worldwide since its introduction in 1989. The third generation Mazda MX-5 will be presented in October 2005 at the Geneva and Melbourne motor shows. Intensity of spirit possessed by very few sports cars - this was what Program Manager Takao Kijima has in mind when creating the all-new Mazda MX-5.

The all-new Mazda MX5 epitomizes the Japanese word Jinba Ittai (rider and horse as one).Jinba Ittai is akin to the bond between a single-seat formula-car pilot and his racer, which is the essence of Zoom-Zoom. The rider-and-horse idiom and the effort to create a car universally seen as "lots of fun" served as the focal point around the new Mazda MX5.

Mazda engineers realize the Jinba Ittai concept defined the five basic requirements: the car would be as compact and as light as possible while meeting global safety requirements; the cockpit would comfortably accommodate two full-stature occupants with no wasted space. Meanwhile, the basic layout would continue with the original's front-midship rear-drive configuration with the engine positioned ahead of the driver but behind the front axle for 50:50 weight distributions. In addition, all four wheels would be attached by wishbone or multi-link suspension systems to maximize tire performance, road grip and dynamic stability and that a power-plant frame would again provide a solid connection between the engine and rear-mounted differential to sharpen throttle response.

Mazda engineers made every gram count when they very well knew that extra weight would have a dramatically negative influence on driving, cornering, and braking performance. Their "gram strategy" assessed weight in the smallest possible increments and carefully scrutinized weight-trimming opportunities. Other weight-saving tactics were employed as well. Advanced technology was applied where practical to achieve a light and rigid unibody design using materials that offered higher strength and lighter weight.

The MX5 iconic roadster has indeed evolved as evident on its bold new look. The classic "Coke bottle" shape of the contours was removed. The nose and tail are smoothly tapered but now the surfaces wrap smoothly between the wheels without narrowing. The fender arches of the new Mazda MX-5 are notably more pronounced for a substantially wider wheel track dimensions and a more athletic stance. Seventeen-inch wheels help define the corners of the car while there are modest increases in wheelbase (+65 mm), length (+20 mm), width (+40 mm), and height (+20 mm),

With Mazda's new generation sport car architecture the car boasts 22 per cent more flexural stiffness and a 47 per cent increase in torsion rigidity compared with the former Mazda MX-5's. Moving the engine rearward by 135 mm was a major step towards balancing front-to-rear weight distribution and reducing the yaw moment of inertia. The new car also benefits from ideal 50:50 weight distribution.

What makes this Mazda so special in the eyes and hands of car enthusiasts the world over? The parts that make up every inch of the Mazda MX5 as the iconic roadster are one of the reasons. You can come across super durable replacement parts on websites like http://www.partstrain.com/ShopByVehicle/Mazda. Moreover, you can be rest assured that your Mazda MX-5 will be more capable, more comfortable, and more powerful.

Find the Car of Your Dreams From Used Car Auctions

Used car auctions are a great alternative to buyers who are on a tight budget but want to buy the best vehicle there is for their money. They can do so in many different auctions because these car auctions are sometimes not widely advertised. They are venues for different institutions and companies to dispose of their excess cars, unused vehicles or out-dated cars. There different car auctions held for various purposes.

Government Car Auction

A government auction usually sells cars confiscated by law enforcers, repossessed vehicles for non-payment of loans, and as payments for taxes and similar purposes. These are often sold at lower than market prices. The person with the highest bid gets to buy the car.

Dealer Vehicle Auctions

This type of auction is generally not open to the public but only to certified dealers. There are several types of vehicles that are up for auction. These are salvaged cars from vehicular accidents and the like. There are also the repossessed vehicles, the trade-ins, and the off-rental and off-lease vehicles.

The Best Used Cars

The best used car is one which is affordable, safe, reliable and easily available. One of them is the cars produced by the Hyundai brand. With its solid build and reliability, it provides a non-bumpy and luxurious ride for an affordable price. There are other excellent features that make it one of the best used cars. Toyota Camry also meets the characteristics of a best used car. It provides a more spacious legroom, an elegant look, and comfortable features, which make it a preferred car over the rest of the lot. It is also widely available and reliable in delivering comfort and usability.

The BMW 3 Series coupe is a sporty car that has special features like a retractable hard top, an athletic chassis, and reliable performance that equal any of the luxury cars. It is one of the best used cars if you find them in any auction.

The Mazda Miata has a steering wheel that is ultra-responsive, which would make it easier for those who wish to do some spirited driving and would give the everyday driver a good thrill every time he steps on the gas. It is also fuel saving and reliable at the same time.

A used car auction is a great venue to purchase your dream car at affordable prices.

Can a Convertible Be Affordable?

For many car enthusiasts, owning a convertible is the ultimate dream - one that they may not expect to come true, due to the fact that most people view convertibles as high-end luxury vehicles, with hefty price tags to match. This is a misconception, however; in reality, there are many different kinds of convertibles available, and a wide range of prices. If you've always wanted to drive down the highway with the wind in your hair but you assumed that your bank account wouldn't let you, it's time to take a look at the affordable convertible options on the market today!

One of the most popular inexpensive convertibles is the PT Cruiser convertible from Chrysler. This car takes its design cues from a '30s-era model, and is sure to be a collector's item for years to come. The Volkswagen New Beetle Cabriolet is another commonly seen convertible that won't break the bank. It combines the quirky charm of the classic VW "Bug"with an updated convertible silhouette, and offers great fuel efficiency and high-end performance and handling to boot. Along the same lines, you can purchase a MINI Cooper convertible and indulge your European car chase fantasies - hopefully without engaging in an actual car chase! The MINI Cooper S series now comes complete with an automatic transmission for those who don't know how to drive a stick.

The Mazda Miata is another reliable choice that combines the looks and performance of a classic British sports car with 21st century Japanese technology. It's a classic in the "affordable convertible" category for a reason, but act quickly - the price has been steadily creeping upward for several years now. For a more classic option, try a Ford Mustang convertible. This is a 4-seat convertible made from standard sedan parts, which explains the relative lack of sticker shock that accompanies the Mustang.

And lest you think that "prestige" convertibles are completely off-limits to the budget-savvy driver, consider the BMW Z4, which gives you all the luxury and status of a standard BMW, but at a much more reasonable price. Clearly, convertibles don't have to cost an arm and a leg, as long as you're willing to do a little research and comparison shopping before you hit the dealership.

Car Reliability Ratings 2010 - The 20 Best 6-to-10-Year-Old Coupes, Sedans, and Hatchbacks

Each year the Consumer Union rates automobiles for infrequency of reported serious problems by model and model year. It rates a model, for each model year offering the requisite data, as "Much Better than Average," "Better than Average," "Average," "Worse than Average," and "Much Worse than Average." In 2010, it reported these ratings in the April 2010 issue of Consumer Reports, Consumer Reports: New Car Buying Guide: 2010, and Consumer Reports: Used Car Buying Guide: 2010.

In order to obtain a four-year reliability rating for a model, Consumer Union's model-year reliability ratings must first be converted to numerical values. To do this, the standard academic convention is followed. A letter grade of A and a grade point of 4.00 is ascribed to a "Much Better than Average" rating, a letter grade of B and a grade point of 3.00 is ascribed to a "Better than Average" rating, a letter grade of C and a grade point of 2.00 is ascribed to an "Average" rating, a letter grade of D and a grade point of 1.00 is ascribed to a "Worse than Average" rating, and a letter grade of F and a grade point of 0 is ascribed to a "Much Worse than Average" rating.

To compute a 2010 car reliability rating for 6-to-10-year-old convertibles, coupes, sedans, and hatchbacks, the average of each model's grade points for model years 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 is taken. This 2010 car reliability rating provides the 2010 Car Reliability Grade Point Average (GPA) for 6-to-10-year-old vehicles.

From the foregoing, a 2010 Car Reliability GPA must fall between 0 and 4.00 or on one of the two end values, and a higher 2010 Car Reliability GPA for a model means a better multi-year reliability history.

With the 2010 Car Reliability GPAs for 6-to-10-year-old vehicles computed, the twenty best convertibles, coupes, sedans, and hatchbacks from the time period 2000 to 2003 may be set forth. Old Car? Be Your Own Insurance (Sort Of)

While many of us wish we could always be driving a brand new car, that's not always possible. And so we resign ourselves to driving cars that may be considered old by today's standards -- Cars that have advanced beyond ten years of age. (Oh, how sad it is that we think of them as old sometimes...)

For instance, my daily driver is a 13 year old Mazda Miata. I don't consider her old in the least! Actually, my oldest car is 20 this year... And the next car I'll be picking up will be around the Miata's age. My youngest is 9 years old this year.

In my Miata's case, her age has become a black mark to the insurance company. According to Kelley Blue Book, she may not be worth so much anymore. That doesn't mean, however, that she's worth what they say she is.

My Miata has quite a bit of work put into her -- suspension work, Enkei wheels, Corbeau seat and harness, a roll bar and other modifications that make her my perfect daily driver but also my weekend race car. None of this work, however, is taken into consideration by the insurance companies. She's still worth the same as a stock Miata to them.

To this end, I have a savings account in which I set money aside, just for the Miata. This is to cover her in case anything actually happens, because there's a good chance that if anything major ever did, she'd be totaled in a heart beat. Just because a car is totaled doesn't mean it's impossible to put back together... Many a Miata have been totaled simply because of hail damage -- something somewhat easy to fix.

When you have an older car that's worth more than what insurance may say it is, be your own insurance company, too -- set aside money to cover your car in case anything were to happen. This won't replace your auto insurance entirely, but having a supplemental account will make you feel a bit better in case the unfortunate happens.

To Bait Investors, Honda Plans To Raise Dividends

Japanese stocks dropped, led by carmakers including the Honda Motor Co., on assumption that profits will be restricted by slower growth at home and abroad this year. This is why the Japanese automaker intends to raise its dividends.

"Automakers are struggling with their domestic sales and it looks like their earnings will peak out in the near future,'' said Shigemi Nonaka, the chairman at Polestar Investment Management Co. in Tokyo which has $218 million in assets. "Power companies aren't attractive anymore now they've paid their dividends and because a possible gain in crude prices may curb their profit growth this year.''

According to the Japan Auto Dealers Association in Tokyo, motor vehicle sales in Japan declined by ten percent from a year earlier in April, after decreasing 13 percent in March. Honda's stock lost 13 percent in the last three months, while Toyota fell some 9.5 percent as concerns have mounted that the U.S. economy, the largest overseas market for automakers, is growing at a slower pace. Also, the automaker forecasted last April 25 that its net income will decline 2.9 percent for the year to March 2008.

"It's becoming clear that the U.S. auto market is slowing down,'' Shingo Hayashi, an analyst at Daiwa Institute of Research wrote in a May 7 note lowering the recommendation of Honda shares to "neutral" from "outperform." He added, "There's a high chance total auto sales in the U.S. this year will be lower than the previous year,"' he wrote.

The second largest automaker in Japan intends to pay out more of its net income in dividends to bolster shareholder returns that have lagged those of its closest Japanese rival, Toyota. The automaker will pay out 30 percent of net income in dividends within two to three years as compared with 25 percent this fiscal year, Honda's chief financial officer, Fumihiko Ike, said in an interview.

In the past 12 months, Honda's shares have plummeted 1.3 percent as compared with a 6.7 percent gain for Toyota and a 1.9 percent increase in the benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average. The Tokyo-based carmaker will raise dividends even as it forecasts profit will fall for a second year because of higher costs for aluminum and precious metals. "Raising cash dividends attracts more investors than buying back shares," said Yoshihiro Okumura, a general manager at Chiba-gin Asset Management.

The automaker plans to pay ¥80 or $0.67, a share this business year, up from ¥67 in 2006. The company is paying ¥20 every quarter this fiscal year. Toyota paid out 21.3 percent of its net income in dividends in the year that ended in March 2006 and plans to return 30 percent of profits to shareholders in dividends within two to four years.

"We want to lure more investors," said Ike. "We want to increase cash payments." Additionally, Honda said last month that it expected its net income to fall around 2.9 percent to ¥575 billion, or $4.79 billion, in the 12 months started April 1, from ¥592 billion the previous year. The forecast "isn't conservative," Ike said, citing soaring prices for aluminum and precious metals and a weaker American market. He also expects the yen to increase against the dollar. The company will pay out 20.6 percent of the net income in dividends for last fiscal year, which ended in March. The final dividend will be paid in June.

Honda, which generates as much as 70 percent of its operating profit in the United States, expects the total auto demand in the country to be at 16.4 million vehicles this year, down from the previous 16.55 million in 2006. Honda expects its global vehicle sales to rise 7.7 percent to 3.94 million units in the year ending next March. It forecasts that vehicle sales will increase 2.9 percent in North America and that number is less than its gain of 6.3 percent in the same period a year earlier.

"We will still increase sales in a shrinking market," Ike said, citing its redesigned CRV sport utility vehicle, Accord sedan and the Fit compact car. Honda's American market share increased 0.4 percentage points to 9.2 percent in the first four months of this year, taking away share from General Motors Corp. and the Ford Motor Co.

Honda would likely have gained even more if its suppliers had been able to raise production to meet demand, said Koji Endo at Credit Suisse Group in Tokyo. Honda forecasts its capital expenditure to rise 13 percent to 710 billion yen this business year and it will probably maintain the same level through 2010, Ike said.

At present, the automaker is building a factory, which will integrate the Honda clutch, engines and other auto parts to its product lines. The new factory in Japan will open by 2010. Also, its sixth North American assembly plant in Indiana will build Civics and CRVs next year.

Mazda Retains Same Engine Options For The 2010 Mazda 3

The Mazda 3 is a compact sedan produced and sold by the Japan based Mazda Motor Corporation. The Mazda 3 was first introduced with the 2004 model year, when it replaced Mazda Familia as Mazda Corporation's main compact sedan. The 2010 Mazda 3 is the first car in the second generation of the Mazda 3. There were numerous changes in options from the first to second generation, one of which was a new engine option.

The 2010 Mazda 3 comes with two engine options. The first engine option, which comes standard in the automobile, is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine which produces only 148 horsepower and 135 pound feet of torque. Like most compact sedans, the 2010 vehicle with the 2.0 L engine gets good fuel efficiency. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the 2010 model with the 2.0 engine gets 22 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway.

For those looking for slightly more engine performance, the vehicle can be upgraded to a 2.5 L, four-cylinder engine which produces 167 horsepower and 168 pound feet of torque. The 2.5 L engine is new to the 2010 model and EPA estimates were not readily available. The 2.5-liter engine replaced a 2.3-liter engine, which was optional on the 2009 model. The 2.3 L engine received an EPA estimated 22 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway.

Future models of the Mazda 3 are expected to retain the same engine options as the 2010 model.

Both the 2.0- engine and the 2.5-liter engine can come with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed automatic transmission. The six-speed automatic transmission is new to the vehicle. Regardless of which engine is selected, the vehicle will come with front wheel drive.
